Man found injured in Liverpool street dies

A man who was found lying unconscious with head injuries on a Liverpool street has died in hospital.

The 57-year-old was found by police called to Ling Street in Kensington just before 1800 GMT on Friday.

He was taken to hospital by paramedics, but died early on Sunday. Police are treating the death as unexplained.

A 48-year-old woman and 41-year-old man, both from Kensington, were arrested on suspicion of assault on Saturday but released on bail.

The results of a post-mortem examination are due to be released later.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Ling Street, which is off Holt Road, on Friday between 1730 and 1800 GMT and saw or heard anything significant to call them.
