Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the murder of a man who was shot in Liverpool last month.

Bahman Faraji, 44, had stepped out of the Belgrave pub, in Aigburth, with friends when he was shot in the head by a lone gunman on 24 February.

Merseyside Police have released an e-fit of a white man believed to be in his 40s who they are keen to trace.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact them.

Post-mortem tests found Mr Faraji died from a single wound to his head. He was shot on Bryanston Road at about 1850 GMT.

'Strictest confidence'

Det Ch Insp Neil Bickley said: "It has now been almost a month since Mr Faraji was murdered and I am taking this opportunity to appeal once again to the community for their help with the investigation.

"I would ask for anyone who may have seen or heard something on the night, no matter how small, to come forward.

"I would hope that the passing of time will enable people to search their consciences and find the courage to come forward to tell us what they know.

"Anyone with information can speak to us anonymously and in the strictest confidence if need be.

"Your information could help us make significant progress in this investigation and help us find justice for Mr Faraji."

Three people arrested over the shooting have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
