Man shot by masked gunmen on motorbike in Liverpool

A man has been shot in Liverpool by two masked men on a motorbike.

The victim was in Dacy Road, Anfield at about 2125 BST on Tuesday when he was shot in the leg and arm in what police believe was a targeted attack.

The 27-year-old was taken to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries, police said.

Police have appealed to witnesses or anyone who saw the scrambler-type motorbike before or afterwards to contact them or Crimestoppers.

Officers have stepped up patrols in the area.

Supt Graham Yip said: "This kind of behaviour is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated by Merseyside Police.

"We ask the community to help us take these kind of people off the streets of Merseyside by coming forward with any information that will help the investigation."
