Wanted Liverpool man arrested in Cyprus over gun making

A man wanted by police investigating the manufacture and sale of guns in Liverpool has been arrested in Cyprus.

Michael Johnson, 28, of south Liverpool, was detained by Cypriot police in Limassol on Wednesday.

He is being held on suspicion of conspiracy to possess and manufacture firearms and possession of a firearm with intent to cause violence.

Merseyside Police said an application for his extradition back to the UK was now being made.
