Two Royal Navy ships have joined Liverpool's Spring on the Waterfront Festival for its final weekend.

HMS Charger and HMS Biter, patrol ships attached to University Royal Naval Units (URNUS), have docked at Canning Dock.

They are open to the public on Saturday and Sunday from 1100 to 1600 BST.

The ten-day free festival featuring tall ships and historic canal boats was staged to replace the Liverpool Boat Show, cancelled in February.

The event organised by Liverpool City Council and Liverpool Vision has already had 30,000 visitors over the May bank holiday weekend.

Visitors will also get the opportunity to see the Royal Mersey Spring Regatta, a Shanty Festival and have free onboard tours of tall ships.
