Boy, 5, trapped under parked car in Liverpool

A five-year-old boy who became trapped under a parked car in Liverpool is seriously ill in hospital.

Emergency services were called to Empress Road, Edge Hill, at about 1715 BST on Saturday.

Fire crews used airbags to help paramedics reach the boy, before he was taken to Alder Hey Hospital.

He is said to be suffering from serious head injuries. It is not yet known how the boy managed to become trapped beneath the vehicle.
