St Helens stabbing: Police identify killed woman

Police have named a 22-year-old woman who was stabbed to death in St Helens, Merseyside early on Saturday.

Heather Louise Dyer was killed in Chapel Street at 02:30 BST. A man, 25, suffered serious injuries in the attack. He is in a stable condition.

In a statement issued by police, Ms Dyer's family said she was a "fun-loving person who will be sadly missed".

A 44-year-old man has been arrested over the incident.

He is being questioned on suspicion of Ms Dyer's murder and of attempted murder in relation to the injured man.
