Disruption expected on Liverpool route due to repairs

Motorists in Liverpool have been warned to expect disruption over the next few days as a route into the city centre is undergoing repairs.

The carriageway at the junction of Prescot Road, Derby Lane and St Oswald's Street is being resurfaced on Sunday.

From Monday, United Utilities will start to repair a collapsed sewer near the junction of Goschen Street.

Drivers have been asked to avoid the area if possible.

A spokesman for the council said the work had been scheduled for the school holidays to minimise traffic problems.

The sewer work is expected to take about two weeks.
