Two men held over murder of Nicholas Ayers in Liverpool

Two people have been arrested over the murder of a man shot dead in a Liverpool street two years ago.

Nicholas Ayers, 46, died after being injured in South Cantril Avenue, West Derby, on 29 April 2010.

A boy, aged 17, and man, 27, both of Stockbridge Village in Knowsley, were detained on suspicion of murder.

Merseyside Police said the suspects were both questioned before being bailed pending further enquiries.
