Wirral school governor jailed over indecent images

The chair of governors at a Merseyside primary school who amassed thousands of indecent images of children has been jailed for 12 months.

David Baines also taught the recorder at Heswall Primary School in Wirral and was its unofficial photographer.

The 65-year-old, of Shrewsbury Road in Heswall, admitted 11 offences of downloading indecent images at Liverpool Crown Court.

The judge told him he had let down the school and its pupils.

There was no suggestion he had acted inappropriately with any children at the school, the court heard.
