Woman who died after Southport crash is named

A 21-year-old woman who died following a car crash in Southport has been named.

Rebecca Lewis, from Seaforth, was seriously injured when the car she was travelling in was in collision with another at St Luke's Road on 7 July.

She was taken to hospital but died from her injuries on Thursday.

Merseyside police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the crash to contact them.

Ms Lewis was a back-seat passenger in a Fiat Cinquecento when it was in a crash with a Nissan Navara at about 18:40 BST, at the junction with Hawkshead Street.
