Merseyside riots: Arrested 12-year-old boy released

A 12-year-old boy who was arrested over riots on Merseyside has been released by police.

The boy, from Birkenhead, was questioned on suspicion of violent disorder and criminal damage after trouble broke out on 8 and 9 August.

A 43-year-old man has been charged with violent disorder and a 27-year-old man has been charged with criminal damage, burglary and violent disorder.

Both are due to appear at Liverpool City Magistrates Court later.

A 17-year-old youth from Toxteth remains in custody.

Merseyside Police officers have also arrested an 18-year-old man from Toxteth on suspicion of violent disorder.
