Man charged over armed raids at banks on Merseyside

A man has been charged by police investigating two armed robberies at banks on Merseyside.

HSBC in Stanley Road, Bootle was raided on Friday and Lloyds TSB in West Derby Road, Tuebrook robbed on Wednesday.

A 38-year-old, of Tuebrook, is charged with two counts of robbery and one of being in possession of an imitation firearm.

He is due to appear at Liverpool City Magistrates' Court on Monday, a Merseyside Police spokeswoman said.
