Two Farmfoods stores on Merseyside raided in one hour

Two stores run by the same supermarket chain have been raided on Merseyside in the space of an hour, police have said.

Two balaclava-clad men carrying crow bars burst into Farmfoods in Lower House Lane, Fazakerley at about 06:30 BST on Monday.

They confronted staff, injuring one man, before fleeing with cash.

About an hour later, two men in balaclavas with crow bars raided Farmfoods in Boundary Lane, St Helens. They stole cash and fled.

A silver car was seen leaving both incidents, police said.

A spokeswoman said officers were keeping an open mind as to whether the two were linked.

Anyone with any information has been asked to contact Merseyside Police.
