Boy, 17, killed as two cars crash in Heswall

A 17-year-old boy was killed and two people critically injured when two cars collided in Wirral.

The boy was a passenger in a Ford Fiesta which collided with a Nissan Micra in Telegraph Road, Heswall.

Six other casualties were taken to Arrowe Park Hospital. Two women aged 82 and 84, who had been in the Nissan Micra, are critically ill.

The other injured people - three 17-year-olds and a 12-year-old - had been travelling in the Ford Fiesta.

Two of the 17-year-olds were said to have serious internal injuries, while the other 17-year-old suffered facial injuries.

Police said the 12-year-old had injuries to a leg and arm.
