Walton stabbing: Man charged with murder

An 18-year-old has been charged with murdering a man who was stabbed in Liverpool.

Thomas McInerney, 21, from Walton, Liverpool, was found lying in County Road at about 03:30 BST on Sunday.

He was taken to hospital for emergency treatment but died from his wounds a short time later.

Sean Rogan, of Chepstow Street, Walton, has been charged with murder and is due to appear before Liverpool City Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

Merseyside Police said Mr McInerney was found by officers on patrol on County Road, near the junction with Chepstow Street.

He was taken to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital but died just after 04:00 BST.
