Merseyside policeman convicted over lewd comments

A police officer, who asked if he could feel a woman's breasts after she reported a crime to him, has been convicted of misconduct.

Liverpool Crown Court heard PC John Alan Forrester, 40, commented on her breasts after she reported a crime of criminal damage.

The officer was also convicted of eight counts of accessing three women's personal data on a police database.

The jury was unable to reach verdicts on three other misconduct charges.

Forrester, from Halewood, Liverpool, was bailed until Friday, 18 November when the prosecution will inform the court whether they wish to seek a retrial on the outstanding allegations which are related to alleged attempts to engage two other woman in sexual activity.

The officer is currently suspended from duty by Merseyside Police.
