Man in court over stabbing death of Anfield woman

A 33-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 42-year-old woman in Liverpool.

Police found Gaynor Margaret McGlynn with a stab wound after being called to a disturbance in Waltham Road just before 03:30 GMT on Tuesday.

She was taken to hospital by ambulance, but later died from her injuries.

James Morgan, of no fixed address, appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court earlier and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 4 January.

Mr Morgan was arrested on Tuesday and was charged with murdering the 42-year-old on Wednesday morning.

Ms McGlynn died from a stab wound to the abdomen, police said.
