Man injured in Liverpool club shooting attack

A man is recovering in hospital after being shot at a club in Liverpool.

He was found with a chest injury when police were called to the Holy Name Catholic Club on Mosspits Lane in Fazakerley on Friday evening.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said the victim, a 31-year-old man, was taken to hospital for surgery.

The scene of the shooting has been cordoned off and detectives are trying to discover how and why the man was shot.
