Two arrested over Anfield stomach stabbing

Two men have been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a 19-year-old man in Liverpool.

The victim was left critically ill after being stabbed in the stomach several times in Clifton Road, Anfield, on Sunday evening.

He was taken to hospital where he is in a stable condition, a police spokesman said.

A 31-year-old man from Anfield and a 17-year-old from Huyton were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 19-year-old from Dovecot arrested in connection with the incident has been bailed pending further enquiries.
