Anfield stabbing police seek woman in white coat
Detectives investigating a stabbing in Liverpool in which a 19-year-old man was wounded in the stomach have appealed to a woman to come forward.
The victim was stabbed in the stomach several times in Clifton Road, Anfield, at about 18:20 GMT on Sunday.
Merseyside Police said he remained in a critical condition in hospital.
Officers want to speak a woman who was wearing a white coat and seen by paramedics in west Derby Road shortly after the man was stabbed.
Det Sgt Martin Earl said: "This was a very serious incident that could have proved fatal for the young victim.
"We are following a number of lines of enquiry and believe this woman could have important information for our investigation.
"We ask her, and anyone else with any information relevant to the case, to contact us, in confidence, so we can take action against the person responsible."
