Woman, 92, injured in Warrington house gas blast

A 92-year-old woman has been injured in a gas explosion at her house in Warrington.

The blast happened at the house in Cinnamon Lane, Fearnhead, just after 07:00 GMT, and caused extensive damage to the property.

The woman is being treated for a minor injury to her hand at Warrington Hospital. No-one else was injured.

The cause of the explosion is not yet known but it is not being treated as suspicious.

An investigation is under way.

Nearby roads which were closed following the explosion have now reopened.
