A Wirral man has been charged with the murder and rape of a teenage girl whose body was found near a Merseyside observatory, police have said.

Hannah Windsor, 17, from Birkenhead, was found near Bidston Hill Observatory at about 17:30 BST on Saturday, three days after she went missing.

Adam Lewis, 18, from Fairmead Road, Moreton, is also charged with arson at a house on Orchard Road on 12 May.

He will appear at Wirral Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
