Liverpool John Moores University computer hacker sentenced

A student who hacked into Liverpool John Moores University computer system has been given a suspended jail term.

Charantoor Kultaar Singh, 22, of Alexandra Road in Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester, admitted obtaining unauthorised access to computer material at Liverpool Crown Court.

Singh was sentenced to four months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months.

The pharmacy student was ordered to do 150 hours of unpaid work and to forfeit his computer for destruction.
