Two men hurt in 'targeted' Stockbridge Village shooting

Two men are being treated in hospital after they were shot in a targeted attack in Merseyside, police said.

Officers were called to park land off Cremorne Hey, Stockbridge Village, at 18:00 BST on Tuesday to reports of shootings.

A 23-year-old man was found with injuries to his foot and leg, and an 18-year-old man had wounds to his back and legs.

Police are carrying out house-to-house enquiries.

The 18-year-old is said to be in a critical condition, with the 23-year-old's injuries described as serious.

They said detectives are keeping an open mind about the motive for the attack, which they believe was targeted and unrelated to other recent firearms incidents.
