Liverpool primary school stabbing: Second arrest

A second arrest has been made after a pregnant woman was stabbed repeatedly at a Liverpool primary school.

The attack happened at Lister Primary School, Green Lane, Stoneycroft, at about 12:30 GMT on Thursday. The victim, 28, is in a stable condition.

Police said a 39-year-old man from Anfield had been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

A 39-year-old woman from Stoneycroft arrested earlier on suspicion of attempted murder remains in custody.

Merseyside Police said the victim was stabbed on a path in the school grounds, "well away" from classrooms.

None of the pupils at the school are believed to have witnessed the attack.
