Woman dies in 'domestic incident' in Aintree

A woman has died in what police have described as a domestic incident in Merseyside.

Police discovered the body of the woman, 48, at a house on Rugby Drive, Aintree, at about 16:45 GMT on Wednesday.

A man was taken to hospital with a wound to his neck. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said officers were not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.

The woman's family have been informed but she has not been formally identified, police said.

A post-mortem examination will take place later.
