Woman seriously hurt as car is stolen in West Derby

A 72-year-old woman is seriously ill after her car was stolen from outside her Liverpool home.

Police believe the woman's blue Ford Fiesta Zetec was on the drive of the house in Blackmoor Drive, West Derby, when the incident took place.

Emergency services were called to a report that the car had been stolen and its owner had been injured.

The woman, who cannot remember what happened, was taken to hospital with an injured hip and arm.

She is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

Officers are searching for the car, registration number EO60 VFC, and CCTV is being examined from the area.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen the car or witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area around the time of the incident, just before 18:00 GMT on Tuesday, to contact them.
