Fire engine in collision with car in Liverpool
Two people were injured when a fire engine collided with a car as it responded to reports of a blaze in Liverpool.
The crash happened at about 10:45 GMT at the junction of Parliament Street and Park Road.
A 40-year-old man and a firefighter were taken by ambulance to the Royal Liverpool Hospital.
The engine had its blue lights in operation, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service confirmed.
The report of a fire near a warehouse turned out to be controlled burning in a scrapyard, a spokesman said.
The police have been informed of the incident, they added.
