Three held in Liverpool after man spotted with gun

Three people have been arrested for firearms offences after a man was spotted with a pistol on the street.

Four young men, one armed with a handgun, were seen running away from a derelict factory on West Derby Road, Liverpool, on Monday evening.

Armed police arrested three men, aged 22, 21 and 18, on suspicion of possessing a firearm and stealing cars.

A weapon found in a bag by a member of the public has been seized for forensic examination.
