Mark Reissing case: Men in court over promenade death

Three men have appeared in court charged in relation to the death of a man on a Merseyside promenade.

Mark Reissing, 48, from Wallasey, died of multiple injuries on Egremont Promenade in New Brighton on 9 July.

Geoffrey Allen, 40, of Wallasey, appeared at Wirral Magistrates' Court charged with murder.

Christopher Halpin, 30, of Roscommon Street, Everton and Anthony Staff, 23, of New Street, Wallasey also appeared charged with assisting an offender.

Mr Allen was also charged with supplying cocaine.

All three were remanded in custody to appear on 21 August at Liverpool Crown Court.

A fourth man, Nazzareno Abela, 46, of Wallasey, who was previously charged with murder, will also appear.
