Three men have been charged with murdering a man who was shot dead as he parked his car in Liverpool.

Jason Osu, 31, was shot five times in November 2012 in Beauclair Drive, Wavertree, and died five days later.

Paul Croxton, 21, of no fixed address, George McGovern, 54, and Thomas White, 29, both from Sefton, were remanded in custody by Liverpool magistrates.

Currency trader Mr Osu, who also held a pilot's licence, was the victim of a targeted attack, police said.

Mr Croxton and Mr McGovern are also accused of conspiracy to commit criminal damage in a relation to a series of shootings in Maghull between 13 to 27 March, which damaged five properties, and an arson attack in Aughton on 18 March.

All three are next due before Liverpool Crown Court on 20 September.
