Men deny murdering Mark Reissing on New Brighton promenade

Two men have denied murdering a man whose body was found on a Merseyside promenade.

Mark Reissing, 48, from Wallasey, died of multiple injuries on Egremont Promenade in New Brighton on 9 July.

Geoffrey Allen, 41, and Nazzareno Abela, 46, both from Wallasey, pleaded not guilty to his murder at Liverpool Crown Court.

The pair were remanded in custody and will stand trial at the same court on 13 January.

Two other men appeared alongside them in court.

Christopher Halpin, 30, of Roscommon Street, Everton and Anthony Staff, 23, of Wallasey both pleaded not guilty to supplying class A drugs.

Mr Halpin also denied assisting an offender.

Both men were remanded in custody and will also go on trial on the same date.
