Man, 38, charged with West Kirby murder

A 38-year-old man has been charged with murder after a man was stabbed at a house in Merseyside.

Jonathan Britton, 43, died in hospital after he was attacked at his home in Paton Close, West Kirby, at 21:40 GMT on Tuesday.

A man, from Birkenhead, will appear before Wirral Magistrates' Court later charged with murder, police said.

A 23-year-old man, from Birkenhead, has been charged with assisting an offender and will also appear in court later.

He has also been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice, police said.
