A £20,000 reward is being offered to find the killers of a man shot dead in Liverpool three years ago.

Joseph Cummins, 25, was found with gunshot wounds by officers shortly before 21:00 GMT on 20 January 2011 in Fazakerley.

He was getting into a car in Longmoor Lane when he was shot several times and was pronounced dead in hospital later.

Five people were arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation. No-one has been charged.

Det Ch Insp Phil McEwan, of Merseyside Police, said it was "a callous act which has left a family devastated".

He said: "Longmoor Lane is a very busy road and I would ask anyone who may have heard or seen something on the night, no matter how small, to come forward."

He urged people to "search their consciences and find the courage to come forward."

He said three years on, "people may have moved from the area or may be in a different situation from then and now feel in a position to talk to the police".
