Huyton M62 casualty may have jumped from moving taxi
A man found with serious head injuries on a motorway slip road may have "voluntarily got out of a taxi while it was still moving", police said.
Merseyside Police said they found the 22-year-old at 02.35 BST near junction 5 westbound on the M62, near Huyton.
Police are examining a black cab the man is believed to have been a passenger in, which was at the scene when they arrived.
The injured man is critically ill at Walton Neurological Hospital.
The interior of the taxi was damaged during the journey, a police spokesman said. No other vehicle was involved.
Police said no-one has been arrested. The taxi driver is assisting officers with their inquiries.
