Liverpool shooting: Man shot by police in raid charged
A man who was shot in the chest by armed police has been charged with 11 offences including making threats to kill and unlawful imprisonment.
Police went to a house in Shellingford Road, Liverpool on 22 May after reports a man was holding a knife to a woman's throat.
The man was shot at the house. A 40-year-old woman was released unharmed.
Elemir Lakatos, 47, appeared at South Sefton Magistrates and is due before Liverpool Crown Court on 20 June.
Helen Morris, Senior Crown Prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service Mersey-Cheshire, said the charges also included making threats to kill a police officer, attempted arson and possessing an imitation firearm with intent to commit an offence.
The shooting is being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
