Boy, 13, bitten on face by dog in Bootle house

A 13-year-old boy has been bitten on the face by a dog inside a house on Merseyside.

Police said the boy was attacked in a house on Alpha Street, Bootle, at about 19:00 GMT on Friday.

The teenager was taken to hospital for treatment. A police spokesman said his injures were "not thought to be life threatening".

He said the dog involved had been "secured" by officers at the scene and was not a banned breed.
