Police have seized drugs worth up to £250,000 and arrested three men after searching a flat in Liverpool.

Officers found 6kg (13lbs) of brown powder, thought to be heroin, at the property in Lidderdale Road, Wavertree, just before 23:00 GMT on Thursday.

Two men aged 28 and a 37-year-old were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

A BMW saloon and a Mercedes were also seized, along with scales and other drug paraphernalia.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said the men remained in custody and an investigation was ongoing.
