Liverpool club landlord Richie Williams' killer pleads guilty

A man who was due on trial accused of murdering club landlord Richard Williams has admitted killing him.

Matthew Connah, 38, pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter, which Liverpool Crown Court prosecutors accepted.

Connah, of Barons Hey, Stockbridge Village, was remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on 18 February.

Mr Williams, 64, was found with serious injuries in Waterpark Drive, West Derby, in August. He died in hospital.
