Boys 12 and 13 charged with Anfield rape

Two boys aged 12 and 13 have been charged with sexual offences including the rape of a woman at her home in Liverpool.

A 43-year-old woman, described by police as vulnerable, was attacked at her flat in Anfield in September.

The 12-year-old, from Anfield, and the 13-year-old, from Tuebrook, are due to appear at Liverpool Youth Court on 3 March.

Twelve youths have been arrested in connection with the attack.

A 14-year-old boy from Norris Green was arrested and subsequently bailed on suspicion of sexual assault on 5 February in relation to the attack. Police said he had presented himself at a police station.

Eleven people, including a boy of 12 and a girl, 15, were held over the assault, in October and also bailed.
