Southport death: Mark Lowe jailed for killing brother
A man who admitted killing his older brother after an argument turned violent has been jailed.
Mark Lowe, 32, from Skelmersdale in Lancashire, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Wayne Lowe who died from blunt force head and neck trauma.
The 33-year-old's body was found at a property in Linaker Street, Southport, on 7 September 2014.
Lowe, of Beechtrees, was jailed for four years and eight months at Liverpool Crown Court.
Merseyside Police said their mother and stepfather, Jillian and Ken Atkins, had shown "great dignity and strength... having lost one son in violent circumstances at the hands of the other".
"Few would argue, no parent should have to face that terrible position," Det Ch Insp Dave Rooney added.
