A man has been charged with murder after a dead body was found at a Liverpool property on Sunday.

Roy Heyes was found after police officers forced entry into his home in Boaler Street, Kensington.

A post-mortem examination confirmed the 47-year-old died of injuries consistent with a sustained violent assault.

Martin Daiken, 27, who lived on the same street, has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday.
