Boys, 12 and 13, face rape charges of 'vulnerable' woman

Two boys, aged 12 and 13, have appeared in court accused of rape.

The boys, who cannot be identified, are charged with raping a 43-year-old "vulnerable" woman in her home in Anfield, Liverpool on 24 September.

At Liverpool Crown Court, the pair were released on bail until 15 May when they are expected to enter their pleas.

The younger boy sat in the dock before the city's most senior judge, Judge Clement Goldstone, QC, with his mother and the other boy was with his father.

The judge fixed a date for a trial, expected to last three to four days, beginning on 29 June.
