The mother of a newborn girl who was found abandoned inside an amusement arcade's toilet has appeared at Liverpool Crown Court via videolink.

Nicola Glover, from Prescot, was charged with attempted murder and child cruelty last month.

The 29-year-old's baby was found at Silcock's Amusements in Southport on 16 April. Nurses who cared for her at Ormskirk Hospital named her April.

Ms Glover was remanded until a plea hearing on 20 July at the same court.

A trial date has been set for 28 September.

Police said her baby was "safe and well".
