Murder charge after Wirral fishing lake death

A man has been charged with murder following a fight at a fishing lake in Merseyside.

Birkenhead man Barry O'Reilly, 37, died after the incident at Claremont Farm on Clatterbridge Old Road in Spital, Wirral, on Sunday.

Following a post-mortem examination, the preliminary cause of death was drowning, Merseyside Police said.

Christopher Davies, 28, of Town Lane, Higher Bebington, is due to appear at Wirral Magistrates' Court later.
