Murder arrest over doorman stab death outside St Helens bar

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder over the death of a doorman who was stabbed outside a St Helens bar.

Daniel Fox, 29, from St Helens, was found with a knife wound in Westfield Street and North John Street at about 03:20 BST on Friday.

A post-mortem examination found he died as a result of a single stab wound to his body.

A 20-year-old man from Stockbridge Village has been taken into custody to be questioned, police said.

Two women, both aged 18 and from the Rainhill area, who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been released on bail.
