A47 crash victim named as Bedfordshire mother of three

A woman who died in a crash on a dual carriageway near Norwich has been identified as 52-year-old Elizabeth Bird.

Mrs Bird was from Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire and worked as a lecturer for the Open University.

She was the front-seat passenger in a Ford Mondeo which was the first of seven vehicles in collision with a lorry on the A47 on Saturday.

Police are investigating the crash and have appealed for witnesses.
