Fog and fresh snow bring hazards to parts of Norfolk

Fresh snow has fallen on icy roads in north and central Norfolk with freezing fog patches as an added hazard.

Trains between Norwich and Lowestoft were disrupted after a death on the line at Cantley.

An investigation was carried out and police appealed for witnesses but gave no other details. The line reopened just after midnight.

Train operator National Express East Anglia said some services were cancelled on the London line.

Train failures meant other services from Norwich and King's Lynn were running with fewer than normal carriages.

Norfolk County Council urged motorists to be careful and allow extra time for their journeys.

Bin collections in north Norfolk have been suspended for Friday because of widespread snow.

They were also suspended earlier in the week because of weather conditions.

A council spokesman said the collections would hopefully be carried out on Monday, weather permitting, and apologised for any inconvenience.
