Donkey sanctuary appeals after spacehopper theft

Little Tinkers Donkey Sanctuary in Norwich is appealing for help after its spacehoppers were stolen.

The toys provide recreation for the donkeys, who pick them up by their handles and kick them around.

"We left them in the field one night when they were playing with them and unfortunately we came back and they'd been stolen," said owner Julie Bassett.

The sanctuary, which rehomes Shetland ponies and donkeys, asked the public to donate unwanted toys.

The three spacehoppers disappeared last month, leaving the 28 resident animals with nothing to play with.

The owners of the sanctuary, on Bluebell Road, hope that if they get a good response their animals will no longer have to share the toys.
